Bavarian State Police

The Bavarian State Police (the regional police force of the Free State of Bavaria) ranks among the largest police departments in Germany. As part of the modernization of administrative procedures the police also decided to modernize their file and workflow processing. The search began for a solution that would stand out through exceptional user-friendliness and platform independence. The Bavarian State Police decided to take advantage of the existing Fabasoft eGov-Suite solution as its base software. Solution adaptations and the integration of specialist applications were developed together with Fabasoft. Today more than 3,000 users work with the system. In the final stage a Bavaria-wide rollout with up to 30,000 police employees is planned.

The implementation of fully electronic business processing in the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Consumer Protection represented an important paradigm shift in the official course of business. The basis for the successful implementation was the standard software product solution with Fabasoft eGov-Suite. A project team developed the required customizations, which were implemented solely within a framework of configuration settings. Business processes were optimized markedly and user interaction harmonized as a result.

The EU Services Directive had to be implemented by the end of 2009. The Directive specifies the provision of a contact point for service providers to simplify start-up procedures and the carrying out of their work. The state was in search of a customized application to support employees of Lower Saxony in handling requests that could also be made available to employees of the points of single contact at municipal level as a further option. Further to the satisfactory experience with Fabasoft eGov-Suite for the electronic file (eAkte), Fabasoft received the order to execute the project. It was then possible to realize the requirements of the EU in time and optimize the services accordingly.
