Discussion forums, wikis and blogs are – additional to document oriented processing – part of modern communication and knowledge management. Many authorities want to benefit from the advantages of such instruments in their organization, without waiving orderly documentation. In addition the collaboration encourages the exchange of information and knowledge beyond company borders.

In Fabasoft eGov-Suite the user has the possibility to create a special work area for informal internal and external cooperation without the necessity to become acquainted with new working tools. In this work area the user can create folder, transfer documents from a formal folder into the work area and invite participants (internal and external) to cooperate in this work area.

Discussion forum

The participants informally work out solutions and exchange their ideas in a discussion forum. Similar to a blog the topics are in a chronologic order. After having concluded the cooperation, the administrator can automatically transfer the work results back into the folder, delete the informal work area and continue the formal routing. Thus the user can make use of the advantages of informal cooperation without having to abandon orderly documentation.
